Instructions for Using Inscriptifact with Samples Searches.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING THE INSCRIPTIFACT WEB CLIENT

PC users

InscriptiFact is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Windows7 and linux


For returning users of Inscriptifact:

Before downloading the latest version of InscriptiFact, you will need to remove earlier versions of InscriptiFact. To do this:

  • Select START - RUN and type in: javaws -viewer
  • Select any previous versions of InscriptiFact, one at a time, and click Remove
  • Delete the directory ICF (probably on your desktop or in your Java Directory) and empty your trash.

For new users:

You will need to install the latest update to JRE 6
Download JRE 6(free of charge) from here
Reboot your machine after installing JRE 6.

To Start InscriptiFact:
  • Click on the banner: Download web client

  • You'll receive a warning, but start anyway. Ignore the message and proceed. The InscriptiFact Project verifies that this code is safe.
  • An InscriptiFact desktop icon will be automatically created on the desktop.


NOTE: For subsequent use of InscriptiFact, start InscriptiFact by clicking the InscriptiFact desktop icon.
